Max's Walk

Pictures of the walk in 2009, 2007 and 2006

Sunday 12th July 2009
walk from St Pauls via the South Bank to Lambeth Bridge and then via Parliament Square to Trafalgar Square

Early arrivals were given a brief explanation of how the Tylers and Bricklayers sundial works by its designer (and leader of this walk) Piers Nicholson

The walk started over the Millennium footbridge

with magnificant views of the City downstream

..... and sandcastles on the beach

Strange sights along the route

We were glad some children could join in the Walk

and very surprised at this

Lambeth Palace with the tower of St. Mary's Lambeth

The Houses of Parliament from Lambeth Bridge

This little (and little-known) gem of Victorian architecture in Victora Gardens

The burghers of Calais

There were a large nuber of charity runs aking it difficult to cross roads - and large groups of exhausted runners as we got closer to Trafalgar Square

Entrance to the War Rooms museum

Facade of the Foreign Office

Rural calm in St. James Park

with the Horse Guards opposite

Where have they all got to?

Adults then had a nice lunch at the Stockpot in Panton Street while children and perents had a picnic in St. James Park
Grateful thanks to Frances Follin and Alan Butler of Genesys Consultants for these pictures of a most enjoyable walk
